The Protein Brewery (TPB) is a young, highly innovative company focused on creative technologies to develop and produce sustainable food ingredients using classical brewing and precision fermentation technology. We are addressing the eminent global shift from animal-based food ingredients towards a sustainable, plant-based food chain. Our team in Breda, The Netherlands currently consists of 35 people and is growing fast. What does your profile look like?

We are a good match if you have...

  • Excellent and proven sales and customer development skills in a B2B environment.

  • Experience in commercialization of food ingredients, preferably in the protein space.

  • Strong network in the food industry, preferably in either bakery, meat, meat replacers, food service (McDonalds, Subway, KFC, etc.), private label producers or  innovative consumer food SME’s.

  • Technical understanding of the nature of the product and be able to adapt the story to the customer requirements.

  • Ability to convey the message of adopting Fermotein® into the customers’ consumer food product recipes and tailor the right solution together with the product application team.

  • Hands-on approach and you are a self-starter with the ability to work and excel in an entrepreneurial environment where change is the only constant

  • Ability to work remotely. No relocation required.

Who are we looking for?
The Protein Brewery is developing completely new, highly nutritious food ingredients based on fermentation. We’re looking for an eager commercial professional to take up the challenge to accelerate the North American & Canadian (NA) market for TPB’s first ingredient Fermotein®.  A strong technical background in the food industry is required. Your role will be required to uncover the right contacts at potential customers to implement Fermotein® and work together with the customer to  successfully incorporate Fermotein® into their products. Internally you will work closely with and report into our Business Development Director for NA, with whom you will be forming the US team. You will be working with local and external Product Application parties and with our Commercial Director and Product Application Developers in the Netherlands. Your main goal is to build a customer prospect portfolio in defined customer segments for North America, and realize sales. We’re looking for somebody with an entrepreneurial and adventurous mindset to join our team.

What are your responsibilities and scope in this role?

  • Identifying market and customer opportunities for the commercialization of Fermotein® in NA, in line with identified company strategies.

  • Generating customer leads from NA for Fermotein® , identifying projects, follow and maintain throughout the sales process  and converting to sales.

  • Maintaining commercial contacts, contracts and leads for product-market combinations from NA.

  • Be the voice of the NA market for TPB in order to challenge the status-quo and improve our offering, our value proposition, our application development and the specific customer segments to address.

  • Provide forecasts for required commercial production serving NA.

  • Supporting and working closely with the Business Development Director in generating sales and building the customer portfolio.
