The Protein Brewery (TPB) is a young, highly innovative company focused on creative technologies to develop and produce sustainable food ingredients using advanced brewing technology.

Our team in Breda currently consists of 20 people and is growing fast. The present organization is mission-driven and Holacracy powered, where the purpose of the organization, the teams and the individuals are aligned.

We are addressing the eminent global shift from animal-based food ingredients towards a sustainable, plant-based food chain.


 

How does your profile look like?

  • have 5+ years of experience and a track-record in Down Stream Processing of food products, preferably from fermentation sources.

  • have a (preferentially) university degree in Bioprocess or Chemical Engineering.

  • are passionate about innovation, food, health, and sustainability.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a process technologist with +5 years of experience in Down Stream Processing of fermentation derived products. Deep scientific knowledge and being able to apply this in an industrial setting is a must have. You have a track record in processing food ingredients and in scaling up food production processes. You have a strong network in the food ingredient processing industry. You will work closely with colleagues in the brewing research group, various external partners, and the marketing & sales group within TPB.
 

What are you going to do?

  • Develop food ingredients and food ingredient production concepts.

  • Produce samples for customers and subsequently discuss the quality and performance in order to improve the process and set specs for the next level in order to meet all requirements in a cost-effective and scalable way.

  • Design and execute process development activities from laboratory scale (grams) to successful demonstration at pilot plant scale and eventually from tech transfer to commercial production (tonnes).

  • Keep up to date with the newest trends in energy and resource efficient production processes to ensure an optimized sustainable process.

  • Collaborate with academic groups and equipment suppliers to secure the latest technologies and techniques needed to serve our purpose.
